Rounding out the 34th week....

Happy Friday!  :)  I've survived another week of pregnancy!  I'm 34w4d today.  On Wednesday, I had my regular OB appointment and everything went well.  First we did the NST (non stress test) and both babies passed with flying colors.  My doctor measured my belly and its now the size of a 44 week pregnant woman!  I'm 50 inches around, that's 4 feet.  My belly is so big its making the rest of me look small, which I can assure you is not the case.  This week also brought some new and unwelcome pains.  The first is my knees, they are KILLING me!  The second is the joints in my fingers and wrists are also very sore and achey.  My dr said the knee pain is from carrying over 10lbs of baby and the pain in my fingers and wrists is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel.  I asked what he thought about putting me into a medically induced coma until the delivery, but unfortunately that's not a service he offers.  Bummer.  The good things this week is that I again had incredible blood pressure for a twin pregnancy, Joe and I made some progress in the nursery, and I even had 2 days that I felt REALLY good (pain wise) this week.

Next week is going to be a very busy week!  I will have my regular OB appointment on Wednesday and then will be headed over to the hospital for the Non Stress Test and my first round of steroids.  Our MFM team has determined since we will be delivering in the 36th week, it will be best for me to get steroid injections to help develop the babies lungs as a precaution.  I will get my 2nd round on Thursday with another Non Stress Test.  And on Friday, we will have our VERY LAST ultrasound!  I am really looking forward to closing the pregnancy chapter and starting a new journey with our girls.  As physically challenging as this pregnancy has been, I really miss being the kind of Mom to Ryder that I typically am.  I miss rough housing with him, holding him, bike riding with him, etc.  I am looking forward to getting back into a better physical shape.
